What is a trundler bed base?
Technically a trundler base is a rolling bed base that slides beneath another bed: an additional sleep surface that stores away when not in use. Sleepyhead Trundler Bases are a comprehensive sleep solution. Sold as a complete set, these bases comprise a king single base, a sliding single base that can be popped up to the same height, and matching mattresses.
Does the Sleepyhead Trundler Base require any assembly?
The trundler base comes as a complete, assembled metal frame on castors (wheels). There is no complex assembly required: simply pull it out from under the top bed when needed. The only adjustment is manually lowering the drop-down 'lock-in-place' legs if you want to raise the base to the same height as the main bed. When not in use, the legs fold back up, and the whole base rolls back underneath.
Can I use whatever mattress I want on a Sleepyhead Trundler Base?
Up to you! Each Sleepyhead Trundler Base comes as a complete set: king single base with king single mattress, and pop-up single base with single mattress. Currently these sets are available in Elements (fantastic for kids), Chiropractic, and Balance+ (both great for adults too). If you don't prefer those mattress models you are free to use any mattress you like on the bases, but the bases aren't available separately.
What's the weight limit on a Sleepyhead Trundler Base?
The weight limit on the Sleepyhead Trundler Base is 150kg. Adults and heavier sleepers will find the Chiropractic and Balance+ models more comfortable and supportive due to the technologies in those mattresses.
