You should plan to replace your mattress every 8 to 10 years, but listen to your body. If you regularly wake up feeling stiff and sore, or if you aren't sleeping as well as you did a year ago, it might be time. Check your mattress for visible signs of wear and tear. Ask yourself whether you're sleeping better or worse than you did a year ago. If you're sleeping worse, a new mattress could be the answer. Other signs that you may need a new mattress include visible wear and tear, sleep that is frequently disrupted by your partner moving, or neck, back, shoulder or hip pain that rest isn't fixing.

To avoid your mattress wearing out any sooner than it should, it is important to take good care of it. Rotating your mattress helps avoid early sagging and damage. We recommend turning your mattress every fortnight for the first four months and then once every three months after. Be sure to check the instructions for your particular mattress: many models aren't designed to be flipped over, and doing so could damage them.

Most likely! It’s natural for your mattress to contour to your body shape as you sleep on it.
