What is SmartFibre and how is it different from regular polyester fill?
SmartFibre is made from recycled plastic bottles that are cleaned, sanitised and spun into fine thread. SmartFibre pillows are lighter, softer and more supportive than traditional polyester fibre pillows. It is environmentally friendly, allergy friendly and dries quickly for a healthier sleep.
Is this SmartFibre pillow washable?
The Sleepyhead Evolve pillow is machine washable. Use a gentle cycle with warm water and mild detergent. Tumble dry on low heat – adding a couple of clean tennis balls or dryer balls helps re-fluff the SmartFibre filling. Unlike real down, synthetic down alternative dries faster because it doesn't clump as easily.
Is this SmartFibre pillow suitable for allergy sufferers?
Yes. SmartFibre is naturally allergy friendly. Unlike traditional fibre pillows that can trap dust mites, mould, and other allergens over time, SmartFibre resists allergen buildup. It's also machine washable, so you can regularly clean it to remove sweat, skin cells, and any surface allergens. This makes it a better choice than standard polyester for people with allergies or asthma.
