Children’s beds are important too
We don’t just need to think about the beds that adults are sleeping on, it’s also really important that we are thinking about what our children are sleeping on.
Children require a healthy sleep environment, especially since babies and toddlers spend more time than anyone else in bed sleeping or napping. As kids, their bodies are constantly growing so it’s essential that they receive the correct support for spinal alignment. Their beds should have the right cushioning properties and support systems within the mattress in order to ensure that their growth is healthy and not inhibited or made uncomfortable in any way.
Another thing that I want parents to think about when it comes to their child and the bed they are sleeping on, is allergies. So many children in New Zealand have allergies, with many of these allergies being caused from dust and mould. More often than not, the main source for dust and mould can be from the child’s bed. While you can go to enormous lengths to ensure your house is as healthy as it can be, all of these efforts gain go in vain if the child’s bed is old, as their allergies will become aggravated every night once they are under the covers.
Our children are so important, so have a think about what yours are sleeping on. Make a change if it means that they will be in a safe, clean and healthy environment every night. The first step to investing in your child’s future is to invest in their sleep and their bed.
